Ed Katz, Chairman and Founder
Chairman and Founder of Choice, Ed Katz has led the company from its inception in 1964 through its expansion to a global leadership position. In 1986, Ed established Choice Management Systems, a division that specialized in the staffing and management of corporate mailrooms, in-house messenger departments, motorized delivery departments, and receiving centers for major organizations. In 1989, he carved a niche in the highly competitive overnight delivery business with Twilight Express, which serviced the Northeast corridor. In 1990, Ed acquired Archer Courier Services, making Choice the nation’s largest privately owned on-ground courier service.

Ed’s accomplishments include the founding of ACCA (Air Courier Conference of America) in 1974. Serving as the organization’s first president, Ed helped build this group to its current size of over 300 international courier services, including virtually every major airline.


Michael Katz, CEO
CEO of Choice Logistics, Michael Katz oversees all company operations and manages its direction to ensure continued growth.  Most recently, Michael led Choice’s transformation from a multi-site courier and fulfillment company to a leading provider of mission critical logistics solutions.  Michael joined Choice in 1973 and has been responsible for various aspects of its operation during his tenure.  In 1981, while Director of Operations for Choice’s International Air division, Michael founded his own delivery company in Vancouver, BC, Choice Courier Canada.

Michael is active in the Young President’s Organization (YPO) and has held national board member positions with the Messenger-Courier Association of the Americas (MCAA).


Mike Beck, Executive Vice President and CFO
Mike Beck, Executive Vice President and CFO, joined Choice in 1979. He is responsible for the company’s overall financial planning and policies, which includes the establishment and maintenance of fiscal controls and accounting practices. He also maintains relations with lending institutions, shareholders, and the general business community. In addition, Mike is responsible for the administrative functions of the company and provides direction and counsel to other Choice officers and directors.

Prior to joining Choice, Mike spent a number of years as a public accountant. He graduated from Baruch College, The City University of New York, with a degree in Public Accounting and Business Administration.


Gary Weiss, Executive Vice President of Global Operations
As Executive Vice President of Global Operations, Gary Weiss has strategic and tactical responsibilities to ensure that Choice's infrastructure meets both qualitative and financial performance objectives. Gary is responsible for the company’s P&L and is a major contributor to the design of new service offerings.

Gary joined Choice Logistics in 1994 and has over 20 years of proven management experience in Logistics and Business Operations from the high technology product manufacturing, reseller and service sectors.  Prior to joining Choice, Gary has held key positions with JWP Information Systems and PNY Electronics.  Gary graduated from the State University of New York at Binghamton and is currently pursuing his MBA degree from Pace University.


Anne Yarmark, Senior Vice President, Human Resources
Anne Yarmark, Senior Vice President of Human Resources, provides strategic direction for the human resources policies and practices essential for Choice Logistics’ success. Anne joined Choice in December 1999 and was promoted to Senior Vice President, Human Resources in January 2003.

Prior to joining Choice, Anne held senior human resources positions in the media and entertainment industry with Marvel, EMI Music, and Arista Records. Anne has also worked in international business, where she handled responsibilities in sales, marketing, purchasing, and general administration. Anne graduated magna cum laude from Marymount Manhattan College with a B.A. in Business Administration.


John Miller, Senior Vice President, Business Development
John Miller, Vice President of Business Development, develops and manages Choice’s global sales program, including product design, corporate marketing, and public relations. John came to Choice in 1994 from SonicAir Courier (now UPS Supply Chain Solutions) to spearhead Choice Logistics’ sales and marketing strategies and product development.

An expert in service parts logistics sales, John has extensive experience selling, designing, and implementing third-party warehousing and expedited distribution programs for national, medical, computer, and high-tech industries. John is a graduate of Rutgers University with a B.A. in Sociology with a concentration in Communications.


Paul Malamet, Senior Vice President of Client Services
Paul Malamet joined Choice Logistics in 1997. He has been running Sales Engineering Group for over 3 years and was recently promoted. His newly expanded responsibilities include: development and management of onsite client management and strategic sales engineering as well as the Client Support Group.

Before joining the Choice team in 1997, Paul owned a logistics company called LogisTechs, Inc. Prior to that experience, he served as the Vice President of Sales for Worldwide Express. He has also worked as the New York District Manager for SonicAir, and also with Federal Express. Paul is a graduate of McGill University with a B.A. in Political Science.


Gerry Daley, Vice President, Information Technology
As Vice President of Information Systems, Gerry Daley manages Choice Logistics’ entire IT infrastructure. This includes ongoing development, implementation, and maintenance of Choice’s proprietary system that manages client data as well as all other systems critical to business operations.

A seasoned IT professional, Gerry was promoted to this position in 1997 after several years of management positions in data processing.
