Position Overview

Reporting to the VP of Enterprise Solutions in the IT department, the Sales Engineer is responsible for proactively identifying potential or existing client supply chain requirements and translate the requirements into existing services and processes or alternatively working with internal departments and stakeholders to develop new solutions.  This individual must have technical and analytical expertise of global market mission critical logistics delivery, which enables the company to expand its services to existing clients while exploring new opportunities with prospective clients.

Job Responsibilities
  • Discover, identify, and define the scope and requirements of new or existing client opportunities
  • Serve as a company liaison with prospective & existing clients, assist in developing mission critical logistics strategies
  • Provide leadership and guidance to clients in the assessment of goals and strategies, to optimize service delivery performance across their program
  • Provide explanation of Choice service offerings and processes to prospective and existing clients as needed
  • Provide technical, strategic, and operational support to the Sales and/or Client Services team in pre-sales activities. For e.g.:
    • Responses to RFP, RFQ and RFI requests
    • Network mapping output summary
    • Material & order process flow slides in MS PowerPoint
    • Implementation timeline (if applicable)
    • Inventory transition plan (If applicable)
  • Handoff scope and requirements details to Project Manager and Solutions Engineering teams when approved for implementation
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5 + years of Sales Engineering experience
  • 5+ years of 3rd Party Logistics (3PL) required
  • 3+ years of experience in reviewing and responding to RFPs
  • Advanced working knowledge of global logistics and transportation industry
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills required
  • Skilled in discovery process, requirements analysis and gathering
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to understand broad issues and capitalize on market conditions impacting customers’ service strategy, along with strong knowledge of the marketplace
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
