Position Overview
This internship provides students with hands-on exposure to billing, invoicing, and accounts payable processes while developing analytical and critical-thinking skills through real-world issue resolution. Interns gain practical experience working within a professional finance or billing team and strengthen essential workplace skills such as communication, time management, and attention to detail in support of future accounting or finance careers.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist with preparing and reviewing weekly billing verifications for vendor invoices, gaining hands-on experience in billing accuracy, financial controls, and the end-to-end billing process.
- Research and reconcile billing discrepancies by analyzing variances and partnering with internal billing analysts, strengthening problem-solving, analytical thinking, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Track outstanding invoices and follow up on open requests, building organizational skills, ownership, and an understanding of accounts payable workflows.
- Prepare past-due accounts payable (AP) summary analyses, developing proficiency in financial reporting, data analysis, and Excel-based tracking tools.
- Support the billing team with ad hoc projects, providing exposure to real-world finance operations, prioritization, and professional workplace communication.
Skills/Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to stay organized and manage multiple tasks.
- Proactive and eager to ask questions, seek guidance, and contribute where needed.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a problem-solving mindset and a “go‑getter” attitude.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data entry, formatting, and basic formulas.
