Business Analyst - Operations Performance & Analytics (EMEA/APAC)
Full Time
Remote
Romania, Netherlands, UK
Position Overview
The Business Analyst – Operations Performance & Analytics will help establish and continuously improve the performance management framework for EMEA-APAC Operations. This newly created role will partner with Operations Leadership, IT, and a counterpart supporting the Americas/LATAM region to develop consistent global standards for operational reporting and analytics.
The position serves as the primary connection between operational stakeholders and data resources. Responsibilities include defining meaningful KPIs, translating business needs into clear reporting and data requirements, and developing dashboards and automated reports in SQL and Tableau using data sets and platforms maintained by IT.
The successful candidate will combine technical capability with strong business partnership skills. This individual will facilitate requirements discussions, develop and test prototypes, incorporate stakeholder feedback, and guide analytics solutions from concept through adoption. The role requires comfort working with ambiguity, coordinating across functions and regions, and converting complex operational questions into practical, scalable solutions.
Job Responsibilities
Shape the performance management framework
- Define, together with Operations leadership and team leads, the KPI hierarchy for EMEA-APAC Operations execution: order cycle time, SLA attainment, exception and escalation rates, inventory accuracy, cost-to-serve, productivity and quality measures.
- Align the business and IT on metric definitions and calculations to ensure consistent reporting across teams, sites, and clients.
- Propose the review cadence (daily, weekly, monthly) and the artifacts each level of the organization uses, and refine them with the teams who will run them.
- Coordinate the rollout and support adoption across teams;
Align continuously with counterpart in the Americas/LATAM team on KPI definitions, data models, dashboard design and release plans, so that the two regions build one shared reporting landscape Build the measurement tools
- Design and develop dashboards and automated reports in Tableau, with data extraction and transformation in SQL, on the data sets and environments IT makes available.
- Guide each product through the full cycle alongside the business and IT: ideation with the business, prototype, business sign-off, deployment, and post-launch iteration.
- Use AI tooling (code assistants, LLM-based analysis, automation) deliberately to shorten development cycles and raise the quality of what you ship.
- Maintain and document all developed solutions to ensure they can be understood, supported, and enhanced by business stakeholders, IT, and future team members.
Work with the business
- Run requirements sessions with Operations, Client Services, Network and Order Management teams across regional team.
- Manage stakeholders at team-lead through director level, including difficult conversations when a metric shows a team in an unfavorable light.
- Provide insights which contribute to Operational Excellence and continuous improvement
- Partner closely with the IT team, who provide the data infrastructure, data sets and platforms
- Translate business needs into well-formed data requirements: which sources, fields, definitions and refresh frequencies are needed for a given report or metric.
- Identify where the data to measure something does not yet exist, and work with the business and IT to propose data schema or data capture advancements so it can be acquired at the source.
- Help keep the shared data model and metric definitions consistent as new reports and data sets are added.
Work with IT and the data
Skills/Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years in a business analyst, operations analyst, performance/BI analyst or similar role, in logistics, supply chain, transportation, distribution or field-service operations. You understand what an SLA breach, a stock-out, a cut-off time or a reverse-logistics flow means operationally, not just in a data model.
- SQL at a working level: writing and optimizing queries across multiple tables, understanding how operational data is structured, and being able to spot when the data behind a number is wrong.
- Tableau experience designing and delivering dashboards used by the business.
- AI as a working tool, not a curiosity. Candidates should already use AI regularly to accelerate this kind of work: AI-assisted SQL and dashboard development, LLM-driven analysis, documentation and requirements synthesis, agentic automation of repetitive steps. Candidates should be prepared to provide concrete examples of how AI improved the speed or quality of their work. Candidates who have not yet built this into their way of working will not be a fit for this role.
- Demonstrable experience taking at least one analytics or measurement product from ideation through business adoption, working with both business stakeholders and technical teams along the way.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience aligning operational teams, leadership, and IT and building support for shared standards across regions or functions.
- Experience working in Agile / iterative delivery: short cycles, prototypes over specs, frequent feedback.
- Fluent English; comfortable working across multiple EMEA and APAC countries and time zones.
Preferred Qualifications
- Python for data work (pandas or equivalent, working with databases/APIs, automation), which will become increasingly relevant as this role grows into data modelling and more advanced analytics.
- Familiarity with WMS / TMS / OMS data structures and with how data flows between operational systems.
- Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma or a structured continuous-improvement methodology.
- Experience in a 3PL/4PL, service-parts or time-critical logistics environment.
- Additional European languages.
